| Blue Collar Objects Graduates
from Fairfax Innovation Center, Moves into Expanded Offices |
Fairfax,
Virginia-May 11, 2006: Judy Barral, Director of the Fairfax Innovation Center (FIC) is pleased to announce the graduation and relocation of one of it tenants: Blue Collar Objects LLC. FIC Graduation will occur May 12, 2006.
Blue Collar Objects (BCO) has been an incubator client of FIC since 2002, and in 2005, received the annual Donna Noble Outstanding Incubator Client Award from the Virginia Business Incubation Association which recognizes the top incubator client in the state.
Blue Collar Objects experienced a ten-fold increase in size during its tenure at FIC, with over 40 employees and 2005 revenues approaching $5 million. Solomon Thompson, Jr. is the CEO and President.
Following graduation, Blue Collar will relocate to a new facility at 3702 Pender Drive,
Suite 200, in Fairfax, Virginia, to occupy over 10,000 square feet. The layout provides an open cubicle-less work environment, where the CEO occupies the open area with the rest of the employees. It is a reflection of their strategy of having minimal hierarchy and maximum opportunity for collaboration and critical feedback from all segments of the organization.
"We have watched Blue Collar grow, from almost its inception to a company experiencing substantial growth and success," says Barral. "So although we are sad to see them leave the Innovation Center, we are excited to see where they will take their company in the future."
About Blue Collar Objects LLC
Blue Collar Objects LLC was founded in 2000, and has evolved into an innovative force leveraging Wiki technology to shatter conventional notions of how a small, diverse, decentralized company can be managed. The Wiki technology will facilitate hierarchy-less, decentralized collaboration and organizational knowledge captured from a diverse population.
BlueJean Time represents the first of a suite of application services which Blue Collar will develop, use internally, and sell as an application service to other small companies at disruptively low prices. This will enable them to better compete with larger companies, thereby continuing the movement to level the playing field in this "flatter" world. The company will be located at 3702 Pender Drive, Suite 200, Fairfax, Virginia 22030. Solomon Thompson, Jr. can be reached at: 703-216-1792. For more information, visit the firm's web site: www.bluecollarobjects.com.
